One of the good things about having your own portfolio website is that you have a place to display all of your work and projects. One of the shitty things about having your own portfolio website is that you have to update it yourself or it’ll just sit there derelict. Given how much I’ve fought with the design of this site, I haven’t really updated it since 2018. Over the past few weeks I’ve found a gallery design that I like and I’ve been uploading photos I’ve taken over the last year and a half. What I’m posting here is a selection of film photographs that I took in 2018.
Snapshots From the Road
Don’t tell my mom that I sometimes take pictures while I drive. Also, don’t narc me out to the cops. The majority photos were actually taken in December 2017 on Highway 71 in Ohio, but I didn’t get them developed until January 2018. I love the colors that Fuji Superia 400 can produce, which is why it’s my go to for color film.
I’ll Miss Fuji Neopan Acros
Fuji Acros is my go to for black and white film. Unfortunately they stopped making it in October 2018, and I have to ration out my few remaining roles that I have in my fridge. Below is a selection of photos from spring 2018.
JCH Street Pan
This set of photos were all taken on Japan Camera Hunter Street Pan, and taken with either my Olympus XA2 or Nikon FE2. They’re a mix of snapshots from around OSU campus, and my hometown. Street Pan is alright, but nothing so far has satisfied me like Fuji Acros.
Since I have a decent gallery set up now, and that I have a lot of free time, updates to my portfolio will be more regular. For now I plan on posting some of the medium format work I’ve been doing this year, as well as some other stand alone blog posts.
